Biography

Mr. Burke brings to Hanover more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry, with deep expertise in accounting, operations, and mergers and acquisitions. He has a demonstrated track record of enhancing financial processes, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening organizational performance.

As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Burke oversees all aspects of financial management for the Company and the Bank, including investor relations, residential lending, information technology, deposit operations, and facilities management. He partners closely with the Chief Executive Officer on strategic initiatives, including merger and acquisition evaluation and capital raising.

Prior to joining Hanover in May 2021, Mr. Burke served as Senior Vice President & Controller of Dime Bank (formerly BNB Bank), where he played a key role in three acquisitions and a merger of equals. During his 12-year tenure, he led core accounting functions, including financial operations, SEC and regulatory reporting, corporate insurance, and equity plan administration.

Mr. Burke began his career in banking as a teller and advanced to Assistant Vice President of Financial Reporting at New York Community Bank, where he spent the first decade of his career.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY Old Westbury and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Long Island.
